When we understand ourselves better, we are better positioned to improve how we learn, relate to others, navigate a meaningful life and more.

Psychological Assessment is an effective way to help individuals discover their strengths, weaknesses, motivations or underlying causes of certain behaviours to overcome their challenges.

Here at Dynamics Assessment Centre, our clinically certified Psychologists use standardised and reliable testing and assessment tools as well as research-backed methodologies. They are trained and experienced in testing, interpreting and making appropriate recommendations.

Psychological Assessments

Our extensive range of assessments caters to specific needs and requirements. These assessments include:

Cognitive Assessment

Involves the administration of psychometric tools to assess an individual’s general thinking and reasoning skills, which include visual-spatial and working memory, to determine the individual’s learning abilities. Cognitive Assessments help measure general IQ ability, giftedness (according to International standards) or decide on school placement and admission.

Developmental/School Readiness Assessment

Assesses a child’s cognitive and academic abilities as well as adaptive behaviours to determine their ability to meet age-appropriate demands and expectations. These assessments can support the application for Special Education (SPED) schools, intellectual disability diagnoses and school readiness assessments.

Psycho-Educational Assessment

This assessment is customised based on parents’ questions or concerns about their child and helps identify problem areas using the globally and locally recognised DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) criteria. Psycho-Educational Assessments consist of cognitive and academic assessments, and may also include additional testings to ascertain attention, memory, executive functioning and social-emotional skills.

  • ADHD
  • Specific learning disorders
  • Academic achievement

Intellectual Disability Assessment

Assesses and diagnoses intellectual disability in children. Occurring during the developmental stage, Intellectual Disability is a developmental disorder in which a child has deficits in both intellectual and adaptive functioning.

Autism Assessment

Assesses an individual's cognitive skills, adaptive behaviour and difficulties associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We use the ADOS-2 or the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – Second Edition (WPS, 2012), a standardised assessment for autism, to confirm or rule out autism in individuals as well as to determine intervention baseline. Our ADOS-2 assessment for children includes cognitive testing and an adaptive behaviour scale, which will be useful when deciding school placement for children with autism.

School Visit

Observing a child in a school setting may aid the Psychologist’s observation and understanding of the child if helpful insights cannot be obtained through formal testing or interviews with the child’s parents.

Career Counselling

Personality tests and guidance from our Counsellors enable adolescents to better understand their personality type, strengths, weaknesses and interests to evaluate and decide on their education pathways and future career options.

Tele-Evaluation

This service is offered to individuals who are based overseas and unable to undergo assessment in person. Our Psychologist will find out more about your concerns as well as make recommendations on appropriate intervention and support. Where needed, we may conduct screening activities and administration of questionnaires. This service is only for consultation and advice. No formal diagnosis will be given.

Adult Assessment

Our range of Adult Assessment caters to individuals who are 18 years old and older. These assessments include IQ testing, which seeks to evaluate an individual’s cognitive and intelligence levels. We also assess neurodevelopmental conditions, such as Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), to recommend or develop a more effective treatment.

Our Process

The focus and goals of the assessment as well as the appropriate tools to use will also be discussed at this session.
